After starring in an adaptation of musical The Boyfriend while still at school, 34 year old Alana Hood caught the acting bug and has never looked back.

The Ayr born actress and singer was spotted by a talent agent while training at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, which led to her landing various supporting roles in TV series including the Waking The Dead, Doctors and Lip Service. However, her biggest role to date has been playing Ginny in this year’s anticipated Bridget Jones’ Baby, and she’s also just been cast as a series regular in BBC Scotland’s long-running show River City.
